Before I continue to "catch up" with my posts, I realized that I should first give some background for the name I chose for this blog. Many people are already familiar with Rickshaws, but for those of you who arent...

Here is a pic from my first Rickshaw ride of the trip in Pune ... more specifically, my first auto rickshaw ride
Above is one type of rickshaw - the auto rickshaw - more commonly found in larger cities. These are generally small, and can be quite fast (although not as fast as an actual car).
Here is another picture, where you can see auto's from the back...

Another kind of rickshaw is the cycle rickshaw... these are more common in smaller areas. It basically consists of a carriage attached to a cycle.
A final type is one that I have not seen very often... it is the pulled rickshaw. Like the cycle rickshaw, the name says it all. At the front of the carriage are to handle bars, used to simply pull the rickshaw along.
Of course, once I see a cycle rickshaw, and if i see a pulled rickshaw, I will post pictures.
As my trip will consist of frequent travelling between cities, and within cities, I felt that a tribute to the form of transport I would probably be using in all of my destinations (which is also a VERY popular form of transport in India) would be appropriate.
